Egg-laying Chicken project is one of the school main resources that kept the school operating over the past thirty years. It provides well-calculated and dependable regular income which certainly participates in covering part of the school expenditures. The school has four chickens’ houses with an overall capacity of 7500 hens.
At one point the chickens farm's income constituted 20% of the school overall income.
Eggs from Hope School have a good reputation in the area and we never lack customers, or the suitable market especially around Easter time when local Christians needs extra eggs to decorate!
However, the severe financial crisis that the school went through over the past five years, has depleted and swollen most of the school own resources and seed capitals as well as mounted the school debt.
The new Board of Trustees is trying their best to re-establish and restart the chicken farm project over three phases starting with 3500 hens.
